Self Care

MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH. I would like to provide one of my SELF CARE routines to the family this month. NOW MORE THAN EVER, WE NEED TO KNOW WE ARE AMAZING. It is important we tell ourselves that weekly and sometimes daily. When I moved to Los Angeles I had gotten out of the routine of self-care, because I was learning the city. At times, I became so involve within my work and people I had forgotten I needed to take time for self. I had to remind myself if I don’t take care of me, who will. I'm slowly, but surely falling back into my self-care routine I had practiced in Atlanta. Atlanta is when I discovered self-care was a necessity I needed. So, I made it a priority to practice self-care weekly. We cannot expect others to provide any type of self love for oneself, we have to provide that for ourselves. When love comes into our lives from others it should only be added validation of what we already discovered. My godmother has always told me when we come to a brick wall on our life journey it is four letters (LIFE), but you must continue to move. Life is a rollercoaster ride and we have to continue to ride the waves y'all. ALWAYS KNOW YOU ARE LOVED BY SOMEONE AND LIFE WILL GET BETTER. Take a deep breath and make it happen again and again for yourself daily.
